Max: Best Friend is written by Jennifer Li Shotz. Hero.Marine., as well as the Hero and Scout series, which features valiant dogs and their human companions. Jen was a cat person until she and her family got a charming, headstrong, and adorable rescue pooch that allows Jen to sit on the couch on sometimes.
