John L French

JOHN L.FRENCH is a retired crime scene investigator with over four decades of expertise. He's witnessed his fair share of homicides, shootings, and major assaults. He began writing science fiction, pulp fiction, horror, fantasy, and, of course, criminal fiction as a diversion from the realities of his job. Past Sins, John's first tale, was published in Hardboiled Magazine in 1993 and was named one of the best Hardboiled pieces of the year. Additional crime fiction followed, with stories appearing in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, Fading Shadows publications, and Barnes and Noble collections.

Affiliation with authors such as James Chambers and the late, great C.J. Smith Henderson's interest in horror fiction led to a continuing obsession with zombies and other undead creatures. His debut horror story, The Right Answer, was published in Lin Carter's Anton Zarnak by Marietta Publishing. Additional horror stories appeared in anthologies such as Die Monster Die books' The Dead Walk and Dark Furies.

In 21 Doors, a story based on an old Baltimore folklore and a disturbing game his daughter used to play with her friends, his character Bianca Jones made her literary debut. The Devil of Harbor City, John's debut novel, was written in the old pulp style. Then came Past Sins and Here There Be Monsters. He also served as a consultant for Chelsea House's Criminal Investigation series.

The Assassins' Ball (co-written with Patrick Thomas), Souls on Fire, The Nightmare Strikes, Monsters Among Us, The Last Redhead, Simon Tombs' Magic, and The Christmas Heist (co-written with Patrick Thomas) are among his other works. To Hell in a Fast Vehicle, Mermaids 13, C. John is the editor. Challenge of the Unknown, Camelot 13 (with Patrick Thomas), and With Tremendous Power... (with Greg Schauer) are all works by J.Henderson. You can contact John through Facebook or via email at [email protected]
