John S Steinbeck

John Steinbeck (1902-1968) is best known for his novels Tortilla Flat (1935), Of Mice and Men (1937), and The Grapes of Wrath (1939), for which he earned the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. In 1962, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. The volume editor, Robert DeMott, is the Edwin and Ruth Kennedy Distinguished Professor of English at Ohio University and the author of Steinbeck's Typewriter, a prize-winning collection of critical essays.
