KARA COONEY is an associate professor in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at UCLA, where she teaches Egyptian art and architecture. She was co-curator of Tutankhamun and the Pharaohs' Golden Period at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 2005. Out of Egypt, a comparative archaeology series created by Cooney, aired on the Discovery Channel and is now available on Netflix.
