She is the author of Bootleg: Murder, Moonshine, and the Laws of Prohibition, as well as the Sibert Honor title Six Days in October: The Stock Market Collapse of 1929 and the Jane Addams Children's Book Award-winning Let Me Play: The Story of Title IX. She currently resides in Dallas, Texas.
