Katheryn Russell-Brown is a law professor at the University of Florida's Levin College of Law and the director of the Center for the Study of Race and Race Relations. She is the author of three children's books, including She Was the First! and Defending Our Own: Race, Crime, and African People. She has also published Underground Codes: Race, Crime, and Connected Fires.
