Kenneth Libbrecht is a physics professor at Caltech who focuses on the molecular dynamics of crystal formation, particularly how ice crystals form from water vapor, which is essentially the physics of snowflakes. The Snowflake: Winter's Hidden Beauty, The Snowflake: Winter's Frozen Artistry, The Art of the Snowflake, and Field Guide to Snowflakes are just a few of his publications on the subject. Dr. Libbrecht worked on the Disney film Frozen as a science consultant. He and his wife, Rachel Wing, live in Pasadena. They are the parents of two children.
