Kevin Deutsch is the author of two books, The Triangle: A Year on the Ground with New York's Bloods and Crips and Pill City: How Two Honor Roll Teenagers Foiled the Feds and Created a Drug Empire. Deutsch presents the crime podcast A Dark Turn on Writers on the Air Global Radio Network and is a staff writer for the criminal justice journalism charity Bronx Justice News. He formerly worked for Newsday, the New York Daily News, The Miami Herald, The Palm Beach Post, and The Riverdale Press, among others. Newsweek, The New York Times, The Forward, Columbia Journalism Review, The Independent, the Orlando Sentinel, and The New York Post have all published his work. Kevin specializes in reporting on street gangs and drug trafficking, and his work on crime and national news events has earned him numerous awards, including an Associated Press award for justice beat reporting. Kevin, a journalism graduate of Florida International University, has taught at Queens College and Hofstra University.
