Kirk Deeter is vice president and editor-in-chief of Trout Media, Trout Unlimited's media arm. In addition, he is the editor of Angling Trade. His art has been featured in Wired, USA Today, Garden & Gun, Field & Stream, and other publications. His profession has taken him fishing on five continents, from the point of Tierra del Fuego in Argentina to Russia's Arctic Circle, from the Tasmanian highlands to the Amazon jungle. He resides in the Colorado town of Steamboat Springs.
Trout Media's national digital director is Chris Hunt. He is in charge of in-house content for TU's blog, as well as content sent out to TU's members, supporters, and followers via social media. Chris came to TU in 2005 as a former newspaper editor and reporter to work for the organization's Sportsmen's Conservation Initiative. He was the organization's national communications director for several years until taking on his current role in late 2016.
Chris has been recognized by the Associated Press, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Association, the Idaho Press Club, and the Outdoor Writers Association of America as an award-winning journalist. He's also the author of four books, the most recent of which was published in June 2009 and is a fly fishing history and guide to Yellowstone National Park. Idaho Falls, Idaho is where he lives and works.
