Laban C Hill

Laban Carrick Hill is the author of more than thirty books, including Harlem Stomp!, which was a finalist for the National Book Award in 2004. He's taught writing at Columbia University, Baruch College, and St. John's University, among others. Michael's College and is now a professor at Pine Manor College in Massachusetts' Solstice Masters in Creative Writing Program. Nikki Giovanni, an acclaimed poet, essayist, and lecturer, is the founding and codirector of the Writers Project of Ghana, based in the United States and Ghana. Her poetry volumes include Black Feeling, Black Conversation, and Quilted the Black-Eyed Pea: Poems and Not-Quite Poems. The NAACP Image Award for Literature was given to her in 1998, and the Langston Hughes Award for Outstanding Contributions to Arts and Letters was given to her in 1996.
