Larry M Bartels

At Vanderbilt University, Larry M.Bartels holds the May Werthan Shayne Chair of Public Policy and Social Science. His writings include Democracy for Realists: Why Elections Don't Create Responsive Government (co-authored with Christopher H. Smith) and Democracy for Realists: Why Elections Don't Generate Responsive Government (co-authored with Christopher H Presidential Primaries and the Dynamics of Public Choice (both Princeton), and Presidential Primaries and the Dynamics of Public Choice (both Achen). He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences, as well as a trustee of the Russell Sage Foundation. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Political and Social Science and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
