Lauren Carr was introduced to mysteries by her mother, who read Perry Mason to her before night. A Little Case of Murder, the first book in the Joshua Thornton mystery series, was a finalist for the Independent Publisher Book Award. Lauren is also the author of the Mac Faraday Mysteries, which are set in the Maryland town of Deep Creek Lake. Readers and reviewers have been raving about It's Murder, My Son, Old Lovers Die Hard, and Shades of Murder. The Mac Faraday Mystery series continues with Blast from the Past, the fourth edition.

Dead on Ice, which premiered in September 2012, is the first installment in a new series called Lovers in Crime, which stars prosecutor Joshua Thornton and homicide detective Cameron Gates. Real Murder, the second book in the series, will be released in Spring 2013. Lauren is the owner of Acorn Book Services and also works as a publishing manager, consultant, editor, cover and layout designer, and independent author marketing agent. Via the administration of Acorn Book Services, two volumes created by independent authors will be issued this spring.

Lauren is a well-known speaker who has spoken at schools, youth organizations, and convention author panels. She also conducts workshops and teaches community education classes to pass on what she has learnt over her years of writing and publishing.
