Dr. Leana Wen is an emergency physician, a public health professor at George Washington University, and a Brookings Institution nonresident senior fellow. She is also a CNN medical analyst and a contributing columnist for the Washington Post. She was previously the health commissioner of Baltimore, where she oversaw the nation's oldest continuously operating public health department. She is the author of When Doctors Don't Listen: How to Prevent Misdiagnoses and Unnecessary Testing, a patient advocacy book. Dr. Wen lives in Baltimore with her husband and two small children.
