Before the Netscape IPO in 1995, Luciano Ramalho worked as a Web developer, switching from Perl to Java to Python in 1998. Since then, he has used Python to work on some of Brazil's top news portals and has taught Python web development in the Brazilian media, banking, and government sectors. PyCon US (2013), OSCON (2002, 2013), and 15 talks at PythonBrasil (the Brazilian PyCon) and FISL (the largest FLOSS conference in the Southern Hemisphere) are among his speaking credits. Ramalho is a co-founder of Garoa Hacker Clube, Brazil's first hackerspace, and a member of the Python Software Foundation. He is a co-owner of the training company Python.pro.br.
