Mary E. Pearson is the author of the New York Times bestseller Remnant Chornicles as well as other bestselling and award-winning YA novels. Kirkus called The Distance Between a Best Book of the Year. The Adoration of Jenna Fox was named a Best Children's Book of the Year by Bank Street, an IRA Young Adult Pick, NYPL Things for the Teen Age, and a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year by School Library Journal. She also wrote A Room on Lorelei Street and David v. God, as well as Dream Scribbler.

Pearson earned her teaching credentials at San Diego State University after studying art at Long Beach State University and working as an artist. She works full-time as a writer from her home in Carlsbad, California, with her husband and two dogs.
