The Berkley Prime Crime Knitting Mysteries are written by Maggie Sefton, a New York Times bestselling novelist. After its June 2011 release, Unraveled, the ninth book in the series, made the New York Times bestselling Hardcover Fiction List. All of the mysteries in the popular series have been among the Top Ten Bestseller Mysteries at Barnes & Noble. Maggie's debut historical fiction was published in 1995 under the pen name Margaret Conlan with Abilene Gamble. Before writing her first mystery, she produced over a million words of historical romantic fiction.

In 2005, Five Star/Tekno Mysteries released Dying to Sell, a mystery starring real estate salesperson Kate Doyle. Maggie has worked as a CPA and a real estate agent in the Rocky Mountain West, but she still prefers to create worlds on paper.
