Marcie Rendon is a White Earth Nation citizen. She was the first Native American woman to receive the McKnight Distinguished Artist award, which she received in 2020. Girl Gone Lost, published by Cinco Puntos Publications, is the second installment in the Cash Blackbear series. Murder on the Red River (2017 Cinco Puntos Publishing), which won the Pinckley Women's Debut Crime Novel Award in 2018, was the first.
