Margaret Owen was born and reared at the end of the Oregon Trail, and now lives and writes in Seattle with her two giant cats while navigating a long-term hostage situation. She spends her free time researching ill-advised travel areas and using her illustrations to raise money for social justice organizations. Owen's debut novel is The Merciful Crow. She lives in Seattle, Washington.
