Marty Sternstein has been a Professor of Mathematics at Ithaca College since 1970, with the exception of a year spent as a Visiting Professor and Director of the Math Department at the University of the Virgin Islands, St. Croix. Croix, as well as two years as a Fulbright Scholar and Chair of the Mathematics Department at the University of Liberia in West Africa. He has produced textbooks in Calculus and Statistics, received multiple teaching prizes, and created unique curricula, such as an ethno-mathematics class, Math in Africa, and the first U.S. calculus course.
