Mary H Washington

Mary Helen Washington is an English professor at the University of Maryland and a critic, writer, and anthologist. She previously worked as a Bunting Fellow at Harvard and lectured at the University of Massachusetts. Black-Eyed Susans: Classic Tales by Black Women Writers, Midnight Birds: Stories by Modern Black Women Writers, Invented Lives: Narratives of Black Women, and Memory of Kin: Stories of Family by Black Writers are among the anthologies she has edited.
