Masaharu Morimoto was born and reared in Hiroshima, where he built his first restaurant. He was senior chef at the very regarded Nobu restaurant in New York City after migrating to the United States, and then launched his eponymous restaurant, Morimoto, in Philadelphia, which he eventually moved to New York. Wasabi by Morimoto in Bombay and New Delhi, Morimoto Sushi Bar in Boca Raton, Florida, and others in Napa, Mexico City, Maui, and Waikiki are among Morimoto's restaurants. Morimoto has appeared on the Food Network's Iron Chef America and the Japanese television show Iron Chef. Morimoto: The New Art of Japanese Cooking is his first book.
