Mitchell Sharmat

MARJORIE WEINMAN SHARMAT has written over 130 books for children and young adults, as well as screenplays and novelizations for movies and television shows. Her books have been published in twenty-four different languages. Nate's real-life appearances in several New York Times crossword puzzles, sporting a milk mustache in magazines and posters, residing on more than 28 million boxes of Cheerios, and touring the country in musical theater have all come from the award-winning Nate the Great series, which was hailed as innovative by Booklist. Marjorie Weinman Sharmat and her husband, Mitchell Sharmat, have also coauthored a number of books, including Nate the Great and Olivia Sharp series volumes. MARC SIMONT received the Caldecott Medal and a Caldecott Honor for his artwork in Janice May Udry's A Tree Is Lovely, as well as a Caldecott Honor for his own book, The Stray Puppy. The first twenty books in the Nate the Great series were illustrated by him.
