Muhammad  Yunus

Muhammad Yunus was born in the Bangladeshi port city of Chittagong in 1940. He was born into a family of fourteen children, five of whom died in infancy, and received a Fulbright scholarship to study economics at Vanderbilt University. He became the chairman of Chittagong University's economics department in 1972. The Grameen Bank was founded by him and he is the managing director.
