Ngozi Ukazu

Ngozi Ukazu is the creator of Check, Please, an online graphic book with the highest supported webcomics Kickstarter campaign ever. She earned a bachelor's degree in computing and the arts from Yale University in 2013 and a master's degree in sequential art from Savannah Institute of Art and Design in 2015. During her senior year at Yale, she grew interested in hockey after creating a movie on the sport. She grew obsessed after Yale hockey won the Division I Men's Ice Hockey National Championship. Ngozi's passion in sports extends from half-marathon training to basketball films, and she used her newfound knowledge of ice hockey to start Check, Please in 2013. Check, Please's quirky, found-family aesthetic was also influenced by 90s sitcoms, according to Ngozi.
