Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush Paul Scharre, an Army Ranger who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, is the director of the Center for a New American Security's Technology and National Security Program. He also writes for Foreign Policy, Politico, and the New York Times, among other publications. He currently resides in Virginia.
