Richard Crossley is an internationally renowned birder and photographer who began birding at the age of seven and had hitchhiked over 100,000 miles hunting birds across his native UK and Europe by the age of twenty-one. His passion for the outdoors, as well as his interests in teaching, design, and technology, have created his unique vision for birding and bird books in the future. He is enthralled by the potential of utilizing modern technologies to bring reality birding to a broad audience via a variety of media. He resides in Cape May, New Jersey, with his wife and two daughters as a spokesperson for Nikon Sports Optics and coauthor of The Shorebird Guide.
