Richard Freeborn

Professor Emeritus of Russian Literature at the University of London, Richard Freeborn MA DPhil DLitt Turgenev: The Novelist's Novelist, A Brief History of Modern Russia, The Birth of the Russian Novel, and The Russian Revolutionary Novel are only a few of his works. He has co-edited Russian Literary Attitudes from Pushkin to Solzhenitsyn; Russian and Slavic Literature; and The Cambridge Companion to Tolstoy, as well as contributing to The Cambridge History of Russian Literature, The Age of Realism, Encyclopedia of the Novel, Reference Handbook to Russian Literature, and The Cambridge Companion to Tolstoy. He's also translated Ivan Turgenev's books, as well as Dostoevsky's An Accidental Family.
