Richard Tarnas is the author of The Passion of the Western Mind, a Harvard-educated historian and professor of philosophy and psychology. Cosmos and Psyche: Intimations of a New World Vision, which he released in 2006, won the Book of the Year Prize from the Science and Medical Network in the United Kingdom. He is the founder and director of the California Institute of Integral Studies' graduate program in Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness, as well as a member of the Pacifica Graduate Institute faculty.
