Dr. Jeffress recently oversaw the completion of a $135 million re-creation of his congregation's downtown site. The project is the largest in modern church history, and it covers six blocks of downtown Dallas as a spiritual refuge. Dr. Jeffress holds a DMin, a ThM, and a BS from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Baylor University, respectively.

He obtained a Doctor of Divinity degree from Dallas Baptist University in May 2010 and the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary's Outstanding Alumni of the Year award in June 2011. Dr. Jeffress has two daughters, Julia and Dorothy, as well as a son-in-law, Ryan Sadler.
