Robert Munsch, who was born in Pittsburgh in 1945, spent seven years studying for the priesthood before enrolling at Boston University and earning a teaching degree. Robert worked at an orphanage while studying for the priesthood, when he discovered that he like working with children and decided to work in a daycare instead. He discovered his talent for storytelling while giving the kids stories before naptime. Robert was able to quit his work and pursue his dream of being a full-time writer when his supervisor persuaded him to publish his stories. Robert and his family now reside in Canada.
