Roger Priddy

Roger Priddy

Roger Priddy graduated from high school with only one diploma: an art degree. He studied illustration at the Berkshire College of Art and Design. His first position in the children's book industry was with publisher Peter Usborne at Usborne Publications, followed by 16 years with Peter Kindersley at Dorling Kindersley. When DK purchased the children's mass market publisher Funfax, Priddy became Creative Director of DK's Children's Division and Managing Director of Funfax. He founded Priddy Books with John Sargent at St Martin's Press in 2000 to publish unique and inventive children's publications, ranging from first books for babies to early reference titles for older children.

Roger's 200+ books have sold over 30 million copies worldwide since then, with five of them--My Big Animal, My Big Truck, Happy Baby Language, Happy Baby Colors, and Puppy and Friends--selling over one million copies apiece. Big Board First 100 Words, Big Board Books Colors, Alphabet, Numbers, and Bright Babies Noisy Monsters are among his other works. Many industry awards have been given to him for his ingenuity. Priddy, his wife Zena, and their four children live in London.
