Roma Downey is an Emmy-nominated actress, producer, and author who has spent the last twenty-five years generating inspirational content. She was born in Northern Ireland and studied classical music in London. She rose to prominence thanks to her portrayal of Monica, a sweet angel on the famous network show Touched by an Angel. They created The Bible series, A.D., The Dovekeepers, Answered Prayers, and Resurrection for television, as well as feature films Son of God, Woodlawn, Little Boy, and Ben-Hur with her husband, Mark Burnett. Roma is the head of LightWorkers Media, a MGM-backed joint venture.

Downey is also the founder and CEO of LightWorkers.com, a website dedicated to encouraging and uplifting short form material. Roma has been a lifelong supporter of Operation Smile and Compassion, and she was honored by the Salvation Army with the Sally Award for her contribution to entertainment and assisting people in need. Roma is the author of the New York Times bestselling novel Box of Butterflies and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Roma, her husband, and their three lovely children live in California with their three huge Irish Wolfhounds.
