Saadia Faruqi is an novelist, essayist, and interfaith activist from Pakistan. She is the author of the children's early reader series Yasmin (Capstone) and other children's books, including the middle-grade novels A Seat at the Table (HMH/Clarion 2020) and A Thousand Questions (HarperCollins 2020), which she co-wrote with Laura Shovan. She's also the author of Brick Walls: Stories of Hope and Courage from Pakistan, a collection of short stories for adults and teenagers. Saadia is the editor-in-chief of Blue Minaret, a journal dedicated to Muslim art, poetry, and prose. In 2017, she was highlighted in O, The Oprah Magazine as a woman making a difference in her community. Her spouse and children live with her in Houston, Texas.
