Safi Bahcall

Harvard awarded Safi Bahcall a BA summa cum laude in physics while Stanford awarded him a doctorate. He co-founded Synta Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology business exploring new cancer treatments, and served as its CEO for 13 years after working for McKinsey for three years. He received the E&Y New England Bioscience Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2008. In 2011, he was a member of a working group on the future of national research on the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
