Sarah Vaughan graduated from Oxford with a degree in English and went on to work as a journalist. She began freelancing after eleven years with the Guardian as a news reporter, health correspondent, and political correspondent. Her husband and two children currently reside in Cambridge. Her debut novel is The Art of Baking Blind.
