Sayantani Dasgupta, who was born in Kolkata and raised in New Delhi, is a professor at the University of Idaho. Her writings and stories have published in publications such as The Rumpus, Phoebe, and Gulf Stream, among others. She edits nonfiction for Crab Creek Review and has received Pushcart Prize Special Mention and a Centrum Fellowship in the past. Sayantani examines her personal experience against the history, religion, popular culture, and mythology of South Asia and her current home in the American West in her debut collection of essays, Fire Girl.
