Scotty Bowers is a former Marine who served in World War II in the Pacific Theater, particularly at Iwo Jima. In 1945, he moved to Hollywood and got his first job as a gas station attendant before becoming a bartender. He still works as a private function bartender in Hollywood and resides in the Hollywood Hills.
