Serhii Plokhy is the director of the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University and the Mykhailo Hrushevsky Professor of Ukrainian History. Plokhy lives in Burlington, Massachusetts, and is the author of various books, including Chernobyl, which won the Baillie Gifford Award for nonfiction.
