Shari  Becker

Shari Becker grew up in Montreal, Quebec, and spoke both English and French as a child. She spent her summers as a child gathering fireflies, minnows, and toads in the Adirondack Mountains. Becker worked with Nickelodeon, Disney-owned firms, and an Emmy Award-winning puppeteer after earning a master's degree from New York University. She is the author of two picture books, including Maxwell's Mountain, which won the Charlotte Zolotow Prize and was chosen by the Junior Library Guild. Her husband, two daughters, and their dog now live in Brookline, Massachusetts.
