SHERI FINK is the author of Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death at a Storm-Ravaged Hospital (Crown, 2013), a New York Times bestseller book about decisions made in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. She works as a journalist for the New York Times, where her and her colleagues' coverage of the West African Ebola outbreak won the Pulitzer Prize for foreign reporting in 2015, the George Polk Award for health reporting in 2016, and the Overseas Press Club Hal Boyle Award in 2017. Her piece The Fatal Decisions at Memorial, which was co-published by ProPublica and the New York Times Magazine, won a Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting in 2010 and a National Magazine Award for reporting in 2011. Fink got her M.D. after working as a disaster and conflict relief worker.
