Sonia Sotomayor earned her bachelor's degree from Princeton in 1976 and her law degree from Yale in 1979. She worked as an assistant district attorney in New York before joining the Pavia & Harcourt legal firm. She was a judge on the United States District Court from 1992 to 1998.
