Spencer Wells

Spencer Wells is the director of the Genographic Project and an Explorer-in-Residence at the National Geographic Society. He launched an unconventional career that combines research, writing, and cinematography after studying under genetic pioneer Luigi Cavalli-Sforza at Stanford University. The Journey of Man, his critically acclaimed debut book, coupled his own DNA findings with that of archaeologists, paleoanthropologists, paleoclimatologists, and linguists to show how modern people came to populate the earth.
