Stephen P.Maran, PhD, is a retired NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center associate director of space sciences for information and outreach. He worked on the Hubble Space Telescope, Space Shuttle missions, Skylab, and other NASA projects as a star, nebula, and comet researcher.
