Susanne Alleyn has always been interested in history, thanks to her grandmother, Lillie V. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Albrecht was a historical children's book author. Susanne is the author of the Aristide Ravel historical mystery series set in revolutionary Paris; A FAR BETTER REST, a retelling of Charles Dickens' A TALE OF TWO CITIES; MEDIEVAL UNDERPANTS AND OTHER BLUNDERS, a nonfiction writer's handbook; and THE ANNOTATED A TALE OF TWO CITIES, a guide to the classic novel. Susanne has been writing about and researching eighteenth-century and revolutionary France for nearly three decades, describing herself as an arrogant know-it-all about historical knowledge (despite losing on Jeopardy!). She's now working on a sequel to THE EXECUTIONER'S HEIR, as well as a number of nonfiction projects. THE WEIRDER SIDE OF PARIS, her most recent book, is a travel guide.
