Takeshi Obata

Takeshi Obata was born in Niigata, Japan, in 1969, and rose to prominence as the creator of the massively famous Shonen Jump book Hikaru no Go, which won the Tezuka Osamu Culture Prize: Shinsei New Hope Award in 2003 and the 2000 Shogakukan Manga Award in 2000. He went on to depict the massively successful manga Bakuman, All You Need Is Kill, and Platinum End, as well as the smash hit Death Note.
