Ted Gioia is an American music specialist, musician, author, jazz critic, and jazz critic. The New York Times named his prior books The History of Jazz and Delta Blues as outstanding books of the year. West Coast Jazz, Work Songs, Healing Songs, and The Birth (and Death) of the Cool are among his other works.
