Thornton W Burgess
Thornton Waldo Burgess (January 14, 1874 â€“ June 5, 1965) was an environmentalist and children's book author. Burgess was so enamored of nature and its living animals that he spent 50 years writing about them in novels and his weekly column, Bedtime Tales. He was renowned as the Bedtime Story-Man at times. He had produced almost 170 books and 15,000 tales for the daily newspaper column by the time he retired.
