Timothy G Stout

Stout spent 20 years in Japan and has 23 years of experience teaching Japanese in public and private schools, as well as at the university level. He did research on the use of keyword mnemonics in Japanese instruction while teaching at the American School in Japan. Stout holds a doctorate in education (EdD) from Utah State University, as well as a master's degree in education. Columbia University's M.A. in Japanese Pedagogy and a B.A. Brigham Young University offers a certificate in Japanese teaching.

He lives in Lehi, Utah, with his wife and five children and teaches Japanese at Utah Valley University. Stout is the author of Let's Learn Japanese and Japanese Hiragana and Katakana for Beginners, both published by Tuttle.
