Tomi Adeyemi, a Hugo and Nebula Award-winning Nigerian-American writer and storyteller based in Los Angeles, was named one of TIME magazine's 100 most influential people. She studied West African mythology, religion, and culture in Salvador, Brazil, after graduating from Harvard University with an honors degree in English literature. Children of Blood and Bone, her debut novel, came at #1 on The New York Times Bestseller List and is being adapted into a film by Disney's Fox and Lucasfilm. Children of Virtue and Vengeance, the eagerly anticipated sequel, also arrived at #1 on the New York Times Bestseller list. Tomi teaches creative writing at thewritersroadmap.net when she isn't working or playing with pups.
