Peter Tompkins was an American journalist, spy, and best-selling author during World War II. The Hidden Life of Plants, published in 1973, Secrets of the Great Pyramid, republished in paperback in 1997, and Mysteries of the Mexican Pyramids, published in 1976, are among his best-known and most important works. Ptolemy Tompkins, the author, is his son.
